Golden Pass LNG is a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal located in Sabine Pass, Texas. It is a joint venture primarily between QatarEnergy and ExxonMobil, with a focus on exporting clean energy globally. The facility, originally completed as an import and regasification terminal, is undergoing a significant $10 billion expansion to add liquefaction capabilities, aiming to become a leading LNG export company in North America. The terminal has a capacity of up to 15.6 million metric tons of LNG per year and is strategically positioned on the Gulf Coast, providing deepwater port access for LNG carriers. The expansion includes the development of new infrastructure and pipeline integration to facilitate the export of U.S. shale gas. Golden Pass LNG is committed to community initiatives, including scholarships for local students and support for recovery efforts following Hurricane Harvey.
