ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd (OTPC) is a Special Purpose Vehicle established to develop and operate a 726.6 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) thermal power plant located in Palatana, Udaipur, Tripura. The company was formed through a partnership involving Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Infrastructure Leasing and Financial Services Limited (now Global Infrastructure Partners India Pvt. Ltd.), and the Government of Tripura. The plant began commercial operations in 2014 and is recognized as the largest government-owned power plant in Northeast India. OTPC's primary focus is on electricity generation, utilizing domestic natural gas supplied by ONGC. The power plant significantly contributes to the national grid and supports economic development in the North Eastern Region (NER) by providing reliable energy to areas facing power deficits. The company allocates approximately 640 MW of its output to NER beneficiary states, with additional capacity available for merchant sales. OTPC operates with a small team of around 43 employees and reported revenue of $15.5 million.
