Surhan Gas Chemical Operating Company (SGC-OC) is an oil and gas operating company established on May 4, 2017, in Uzbekistan. The company is focused on implementing a Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) for the "Uzbekiston Mustakilligi" investment block, which includes the exploration and development of the "Mustakillikning 25 yilligi" gas field and the construction of a gas chemical facility in the Surkhandarya Region. The project is backed by a consortium of investors and is expected to involve total investments of approximately $5.27 billion. SGC-OC's operations are divided into two main stages. The first stage includes the development of the gas field and the construction of a gas processing plant with an annual capacity of 5 billion cubic meters, set to begin commercial production in 2024. The second stage focuses on building a gas chemical facility that will produce 500,000 tons of olefins annually. The company aims to enhance regional economic growth by increasing exports of natural gas and high-value polymers, while also creating over 1,000 jobs in the area.
