TANAP Natural Gas Transmission Company, also known as Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Company, is a joint venture established in 2011. It focuses on developing, constructing, and operating the TANAP pipeline, which is a key segment of the Southern Gas Corridor. This pipeline transports natural gas from Azerbaijan's Shah Deniz field through Turkey to Europe. Headquartered in Ankara, Turkey, TANAP employs between 501 and 1000 people and plays a vital role in enhancing regional energy security and supply diversification. The TANAP pipeline spans approximately 1,850-1,950 kilometers, starting at the Turkey-Georgia border and ending at the Turkey-Greece border. It features a high-capacity transport system, initially designed to handle 16 billion cubic meters of gas per year, with the potential to expand to 31 billion cubic meters. The project has received significant investment and support from various international financial institutions, integrating Azerbaijan into European markets and contributing to energy security in Turkey and the EU.
