Welbeck Electricity Distribution Limited came into existence as a result of the Electric Power Sector Reform (EPSR) bill that was signed into law on March 11 2005. This law effectively allowed private companies to partake in the Generation and Distribution of electricity in Nigeria. At Welbeck Electricity Distribution, we provides end users with power solutions in conjunction with our power generating partners. While our partners produce the electricity, Welbeck distribute to end users. Welbeck and its partners provide solutions on an off-grid captive basis. This means that our customers are removed from the National Grid and as such receive electricity only from us and no longer from the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) or its successor companies. The current staff population of the company is made up of both technical and non-technical staff and includes a Mobile Engineering Unit that is available to address our customers' technical issues whenever such arises. The Management enjoys very cordial relationship with all arms of Labour representatives and is doing everything reasonably practicable to sustain the existing harmonious industrial atmosphere.
